Well, I’m finishing up week one in my new work universe. So far, I am actually having a great deal of fun. Certainly, things are a bit more unstructured than I am used to, but from what I have seen the company is a very cool place to work. Plus…most people working there really seem to love it and that is something you just don’t find everywhere you go. Still waiting to hear what the first assignment is going to be, but I am excited for whatever it might be.
I definitely think that Chicago is a very cool city and I am hoping to get back here and spend some more time very soon….3 hour break….. Sorry, just went running with a couple new co-workers; we headed over a couple blocks to Lake Michigan and ran around the rim. It was really beautiful getting to see the skyline all lit up even if it was 85 degrees, muggy and full of mosquitoes. They had never clocked the run, but it was much further then we were going in Virginia, so I am going to say it had to be 3.5-4 miles. My endurance is certainly getting better.I got back to the room and I’ve been mostly getting familiar with my new friend (aka laptop) and trying to escape news coverage of this ridiculous kerry-vietnam crap. Before bed I’m going to try and read a bit more of The Lexus and the Olive Tree by Tom Friedman (i’m loving it by the way).Heading back to NJ tomorrow afternoon… I’m looking forward to Quagy’s birthday party on Saturday and relaxing in our own crib. Nothing like your own place after being on the road. Ok…starting to get punchy….better run.
