I can remember laughing when folks would say things like “cherish every day” as I grew up. When you have your whole life ahead of you, you take time for granted.
As I approach my 45th year, I can confidently say that I am in “middle age” and probably have just as many questions as I have answers in life. The crises tend to get more serious these days. When you get hurt, it really hurts. You get to enjoy life through the eyes of your children as well as your own. It’s a whole new ballgame.
I’ve had a great life so far, filled with incredible experiences, great friends and family, and very good fortune. I’ve also had lots of bad days, but I can confidently say that they have all helped shape the person that I am today.
Every bit of time we have is a gift in that its a chance to feel something, no matter how insignificant it might be in the grand scheme of things.
