I just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. I had picked it up some time ago with the intent to read it after a recommendation by Joel Spolsky on his website, but it ended up sitting there getting queued behind the tons of other books I have sworn to read during my travels. I am pleased to say that it is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The style in which the book is written is that of the point of view of an autistic savant-type who is wonderfully talented with math but horrible with social skills. You become enthralled with the narrator right away and get sucked into the book rapidly. I won’t get into how the emotional tale turns out, but I can guarantee that it’s a must read.
